Louis Schiappa
Louis has been practicing law since 2006 and devotes 100% of his practice to helping individuals injured by others get the compensation they deserve. He is an accomplished trial attorney with experience at both trial and appellate levels of civil and criminal litigation. He spent the first two years of his legal career in the Newton County Public Defender’s office representing criminal defendants who could not afford an attorney. In this role he gained invaluable experience trying over a dozen cases to juries, and successfully securing several appellate reversals due to errors made by trial courts. Louis spent the next fifteen years of his career representing large banks and debt buyers in a busy civil litigation practice. Representative matters included civil actions to recover debts from consumers, as well as defense of actions filed by consumers under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and Georgia Fair Business Practices Act. Louis’ experience defending large corporations gives him unique perspective in how corporate defendants value cases, enabling him to maximize recoveries for his clients. He is a zealous advocate and thoroughly prepares all cases for trial so that he is ready to move forward with litigation if responsible parties fail to offer fair settlements to his clients.
Louis lives in Marietta with his wife, two boys and two dogs. When he is not practicing law, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and attending his sons’ youth sporting events.
